Be Careful of What You Wish For

Calm me.
Take my restlessness.
Use me until I’m spent.
Take my breath,
steal it with your hands
wrapped tightly
around my throat.
I want the feel of you to mark me
on the inside
To catch the swell
until it fills me.
Swallow
my resistance,
bind my wrists
and my tongue,
keep me
captive and quelled.
Know that it’s done
no matter where we end,
or where we began.
