man says
please
says
thank you
or maybe nothing at all
maybe sends me envelopes
filled with spare change and
blurry black and white photos
of murdered nuns gathering
flies in south american countries
and being mostly human
i keep the money
and being not at all religious
i throw the pictures away
i never write to ask
for answers
and he never offers them
we’re all reasonable
creatures
